2015 Sound system update

I have seen here that several of you got the sound update done on the 2015 model. Bass setting changed from 7db to 10. Did anyone paid for this update? My dealer told me that they will charge $135 to do this since it's not recommended by Maserati on 2015 model.

Well he wants to charge you about an hour of work.
Because Maserati won t pay them for an update on a 2015

My dealer told me they updated my amp. from 7 to 10 on my 2015 SQ4.
But then I m not sure.. because to me there s still no Bass or very little.
Bass should be present even with flat EQ.
flat eq = nothing.

my 2015 got updated for free of charge. one dealer tried to charged me but they couldn't update it for whatever reason. the 2nd dealer did update it for free. if you have your car in service or some software update, warranty, etc, a good dealer will do it for free. some will charge money for about half or 1hr labor. my local dealer charge $175/hr labor, glad they didn't charge me.
before I had to cranked bass all the way up. now I set it to +2 and it good for regular music. maybe +4 max for deep deep bass. quality is about equal too Harman Kardon in benz, bmw. and softer, deeper bass too. it's day and night different. my friend just asked me did I changed the speakers. lol

Just got the sound update( 7db to 10 db) done on my 15 Ghibli. I have to say that the bass is so much better.Definitely recommend this for anyone that hasn't done it yet.

I just picked up my 15 Ghibli yesterday. Although the sound wasn't as bad as I was expecting, there is very little bass. I asked the sales person and the service department specifically about the campaigns relating to the sound and their answer was "there are no campaigns for your car." From what I'm seeing here, it appears that there is still more that could have been done to make it sound better? What did you say to the service person to make them do the update??

its not a campaign per say. its more like a request to have them adjust the amp output. They also have a campaign to insulate the rear speakers. With the two combination done, sound is much, much better.

It's not campaign or update for all 2015. Since most of 2015 already have the amp set to 7db from factory. It's more like "customer request adjustment" for the amplifier from 7db to 10db. A good dealer will do it for free of charge. Some will make customer pay about half or 1 he labor. Even if you have to pay for it, I suggest to get it done. So much better. Not just the bass, but mid and treble are better tone also.
