Insurance and maintenance costs on new Ghibli

I found out to my surprise and pleasure that a brand spanking new Maserati Ghibli is not that expensive to insure compared to other luxury performance cars.

My state farm rep quoted me only $1726 annual full coverage premium compared to the obscene Mercedes C63 AMG premium of $2760!!!!

Even the Audi S7 is far more expensive to insure than the Maserati at $1929 per year!!!

So looks like the Maserati is the car to get for value. I found new ones for under 70K here in California.

Now my dream car is a Ferrari F430 but I need a house with a proper garage first and that would be my weekend fun car. The Ghibli is perfect daily driver car.

My only real concern at this point is reliability but with a 4 year factory warranty I am not worried. Second thing is maintenance costs the Mercedes guy told me that an oil change on the Ghibli is $900. Is this a fact?

If you are worried about the maintenance costs, I would encourage you to purchase one of the prepaid maintenance packages.

thats very high, unless you have a blemished driving history.

i pay approx $800 annually for 2014 ghibli, $700 for 2010 bmw 5, and $600 for 2010 mercedes C - each has full coverage, full tort - erie insurance. yes thats correct, $2100 annually for all 3 vehicles.. many drivers here are about the same, some guys even slightly lower depending on location and annual use.

i highly suggest finding an "insurance broker" versus a direct write "insurance agent" such as statefarm.. the brokers represent the insured, the direct write agents represent the insurance company! brokers can shop around with dozens of carriers and get you the best possible policy / rate, meanwhile the direct write agent only gives you 1 policy / rate.

Geico has the cheapest insurance coverage for the Ghibli. I pay less per month than I did for my Infiniti. Don't ask how that's possible, but call them

I agree I just shopped around all major carriers for the ghibli since I had Haggerty on my QP and they don't cover the Ghibli. GEICO was least by a significant amount...

I would agree that Geico was the best for me, as far as maintenance I would go with the prepaid and your covered for $1799 for 4 years.

Mfrom a maintenance perspective it depends if you are leasing or purchasing. the maintenance interval is 12,500 miles or 1 year. if you lease that would be 3 oil changes and inspections and a set of filters at 2 years I believe. very minimal...

Geico hands down was the cheapest to insure. Also offers mechanical breakdown insurance which is a dirt cheap extended warranty they offer.

I use Erie for 4 vehicles with stacked coverage. Ghibli is $400 year with a 3 month winter layup or $500 full year. I was pleasantly surprised.

Cool thanks I will get the prepaid maintenance package and shop Geico for insurance. State Farm charges a lot more than other carriers. My record has been clean for last 15 years.
