Navigation Search Settings

I have a 2017 Ghibli with the new head unit and when I try to search for a restaurant or a business by name that isn't in my immediate area, the list comes up empty. Is there a way to widen the search area? Is there a setting for that? Thanks for your help.

Whilst my 16my car has the older system, I would presume the Navigation side is still similar.
When in points of interest there is a menu button in the top left (three horizontal lines). Touching this takes you into a screen which give you various search options including another city.
Its also possible with reasonable success to search using the voice activation.
