Skyhook or Sports Suspension

I need to know which is better the Skyhook or the Sports Suspension. From what I have heard and seen on these forums is the Skyhook is same as the sports suspension with two settings sports and normal.

The Normal setting is for a more smooth drive and sports setting is for the more stiffer ride. Now the question over here is the Skyhook sports mode as good as the Sport Suspension package with Koni, or is it vice versa.

Secondly with the Koni suspension is the normal ride to stiff or does it varies.

Also I have seen people writing about Skyhooks other properties as well like anti roll etc.

Can some one give me a first hand experience about it.

I have skyhook and as you will see from my other posts i love it! the normal setting is way better for a smooth ride than base suspension. the Sports is slightly less stiff that the sports suspension. others will comment on the Koni's. You should arrange to drive both if possible but Skyhook is hard to come by for a test drive. I believe the Skyhook provides a two personality car.............and most of the time you will want a smooth ride even if you are driving aggressively though town!!

Etodd, you just nailed it there for me, that what i was looking for. The only thing i want to ask you here is the Skyhook Sports mode comes close to what Koni Sport Suspension is?

Also you can get Paddle Shifters with Skyhook??

I was told you cannot get the sports package with Skyhook option. But you may be able to order paddle shifters as an additional option. It was an additional option on the RWD for $500.

I was also told no Sport Package with Sky Hook, so I opted for Sport package. Ride is slightly firm but never jarring. My other cars are sports cars, so I guess I lean to the handling vs comfort side of things.

With softer suspension, I'm not sure the car would feel very special to me.

I have the sports package and I am very happy with the ride quality. I don't think skyhook is necessary.

Ok so the sports suspension is extreamly good with hard driving. and the sports settings in Skyhook is fairly close to it as well (correct me if am wrong)

Now what about the SH does appear to do some anti-roll and anti-pitch magic to keep the car planted during high speed turning and breaking/accelerating. Is this true?

The origianl post about Skyhook was from anderson_b76:

There are 3 options on the Ghibli. Sport Suspension, Skyhook and Base suspension.
Sport Suspension is Koni mechanical adaptive suspension. The Koni shocks will react to driving style and road conditions mechanically…no user involvement. It might be a bit stiff for you.
Skyhook is controlled via a button and adjusts the suspension electronically. It is not as aggressive as the Sport and can be softer then the base suspension.
The Base suspension is not adjustable at all.
In order from most to least stiffness:
Sport Suspension under aggressive driving
Skyhook Agressive Setting
Sport Suspension under casual driving
Base suspension
Skyhook non aggressive setting

Others later added/opined exactly that...
