Child Seats

I'm in the early stages of convincing my wife to let me buy a low mileage Ghibli SQ4. Her biggest concern, and mine is well, is our child's safety in the back seat. I know there was a thread or two about child seats but it looked like there wasn't much action on them since 2015 so I was hoping maybe someone has some updates. Do any of the convertible car seats work/fit well in the Ghibli? I saw someone mention the Graco 3 in 1 but there were no comments on that. I know Maserati makes special car seats, but none are convertible and each cost several hundred dollars. Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

Do you already have the seats that you want to use? Take them with you when you go look at cars.

No kids here, so can't help beyond that.

I have a kiddyuk lie flat 0 car seat, fits fine.
I’m still trying to find a cream leather 1-3 seat for when she is older but my wife has already got one for her car and it fits fine. Due to the hump in the middle seat you can only get 2 seats in the back but you shouldn’t have any problems with getting what you want.

Thanks!! And no, we don't have the car seats yet. The wife is currently pregnant, due in December. I've driven a POS 2-seater truck since I was in college and now finally have no choice but to upgrade. Why not a Maserati. I took an SQ4 for a test drive Saturday and fell in love. She's agreed to go with me on another test drive but we'll be bringing our nephew's car seat to make sure it fits well. However, if it doesn't, it's nice to have the reassurance that every stage of child seats will fit, and that we just need to know which one to buy.

I use the Doona car seat in mine no issue.

I love the look of the valets when I roll up and pull a kid out of the backseat

I’m actually trying to convince my wife the 1-3 car seat won’t fit so I can add a Levante to the collection.

I bought mine the month she got pregnant! Went on a 300 mile round trip on the weekend and baby prefers it to my wife’s xc60, much more comfortable. Will be taking it to France later in the year so it’s defo kid friendly.

My wife drives a SQ4 daily with the car seat in the back. We recently moved it from the center position to the passenger side. No issues with any car seat we have except it is a PITA to hook the top hook. Maserati didn't give dads much room to hook that thing! It’s a very comfortable car in regards to the car seat thing. Go get it and Have Fun!

We're at the booster stage, the twins have Graco Affix Backless Boosters right now that we use in the Ghibli. Clips on fine to the anchors.

The Ghibli is rated as one of the safest in crash performance at the time it came out, don't forget to mention that to your better half:

I have had the Graco seats for nearly 4 years now and haven't had an issue.
