Angry Steering Wheel Vibration & Noise

Hello
My 2014 Ghibli Diesel developed a fault after I had owned it for 12 months: on applying steering lock in either direction from stationery an audible buzz/rumble is heard and vibration is felt throughout the cabin.
Been to the dealer under extended warranty who replaced the whole steering system, the fault is still there as before. Dealer now claims it is normal to hear noise and feel vibration when applying steering, other Ghiblis do it, they said!!
Has anybody else had this problem and if so, was there a cure?
Very grateful for any replies/advice.

Two days later and I see 124 people read my message but not one cared to mention whether they experience the same problem or not...this is a very quiet forum 😬

I guess this happens if you don't bother reading the description of the subforum you're posting in.
The fact you got answers to the same exact question you posted in the right technical subforum should be a dead giveaway where the fault lies.

Thanks a lot, toshi. I can only guess you didn't know if you have vibration/noise in you steering so you couldn't be helpful; but why did you feel the need to write at all...because you are a Senior Member? In the REGIONAL:UK forum there is no subforum.

Oh boy...

Where does your issue fall within those categories? You got comprehensive answers here. Crying that you got no answers here, in the wrong forum section, seems a bit self-entitled to me.

My 2015 ghibli has the same issue, and the main dealer told me it is norma, and there is nothing wrong with it. Now I just pretend the noise and vibration doesn't exist.

Having said that, it happens more during the cold weather, it is ok in summer.

Steering Wheel Vibration & Noise

It’s quite normal on full lock and slow speed. It’s particularly more pronounced in cold weather (cold tyres). Odd that you only noticed it after 12 months but in this cold weather mine judders and it feels like a bolt has come loose on the suspension!
