What’s the Granlusso Suspension

Hello, bought a new 2019 SQ4 Granlusso. I’m wondering if anyone knows what kind of suspension it has. My precious 2017 SQ4 had a Sport Suspension. The suspension in my Granlusso feels very different. I plan to purchase a set of lowering springs and sway bars from Formula Dynamics to stiffen it up, but still curious about the shocks.

Another forum member and I discussed this last year. I'm pretty sure all granlussos come with the standard suspension, which is the softest suspension you can get on a Ghibli. Your '17 sport suspension is the stiffest and skyhook (whether activated or not) is in-between. I had the sport suspension in my '15 and boy that was a stiff ride and it sat a tad lower so it scraped at times. I have skyhook on my '18 gransport and it's nice that i can switch back and forth from a softer to a sportier setting.

Current:
2018 Ghibli SQ4 GranSport
Grigio Maratea / Rosso Premium Ext Leather w/Nero stitching
Exterior and Interior Carbon Pack / Hands Free Trunk
20in forged Anthracites / Red Brake Calipers
Nero Alcantara Roof Lining / Trident Stitched Headrests
Premium 900W HK audio / Skyhook
Heated / Cooled ventilated Sport seats

2017 Range Rover Sport HSE Dynamic

Previous:
2015 Ghibli SQ4 / 2016 MB GLE 350 / 2013 Audi S5 / 2008 Audi A4 / 2001 Acura Integra GS / 1995 Acura Integra LS

Confirmed that the Granlusso came with stock suspension. The ride doesn’t compare to my previous SQ4 w/ sport suspension.

So I researched sport suspension shocks and springs on Scuderia, got the part numbers, and ordered the parts from my local dealership. Should bolt in with zero issues.

For the price of the original Koni FSD sport suspension, you could get some nice coilovers like KW V3. A much better option IMO.

Ordered the sport shocks and springs through my local dealership. Cost around $1,600. Installed them this pst weekend. Aside from the heat here in VA, install went smooth. The ride is so much stiffer. Cornering is solid. Very happy.

I think those only work on the RWD and not the SQ4s, right?

I went looking for coil overs and could not find any for an SQ4.

They work on both RWD and AWD cars. Do a search on the forum.
KW just didn't bother certifying them with the German TUV for AWD as well, that's why they don't list them for Q4 cars. Weird choice, but ok.

Skyhook is Maserati's name for the electronic adaptive suspension. The sport suspension is Skyhook's mechanical counterpart.
