Hello all,

I am wrestling with a buying vs. leasing either a loaded 90k Ghibli vs. a 109k Quattroporte in the NY/NJ metro area. I understand all the variables and am down to best price/value. I prefer the QP due to backseat size but like Ghibli aggressive styling. I also do ~20k/yr. Its a matter of how much money to spend on a work car i guess.

Does anyone have info on dealer incentives (lease and buy). Also what they do for demo's . Ive seen 15k res on the Ghibli at 48% (and know the factors) but cant find the QP res. I also know corporate forgoes backend incentive if client uses 0% finance option. local dealers seem to be comfortable on 13-17% disc depending on car, but would like to know what they are working with.

Any quick help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

that's my hope, and yes it is an eye turner. Just looking for the numbers to make sure I get the best I can, as the mileage will kill me :)

Check out Maserati of Tampa/reeves import motor cars website. They have over 20% discount on MSRP on Ghiblis and QPs. Your dealer should be able to match. Plenty of 2014s to unload before the 2015s arrive.
Good luck.

Qp or Ghibli and did you buy or lease?

You usually only see the larger 16-20% discounts when you buy outright - leasing seems to be less in discounting due to incentives dealers receive.

If you leased I'd be interested in your numbers/details and where you went if you can PM

Yes, I outright purchased a $92k Ghibli. plus $3k of extras. I took the $5k cashback and found a 2% loan at chase. Final sale price ~$78k plus fees. I do high miles and wanted the freedom of keeping/selling based on my satisfaction. so far so good, just trying to figure out how best to add a Garmin HUD/traffic/sat radio/radar.

Love the car, but have gotten used to BMW treasure trove of integrated tech...

If anyone is looking for similar tech integration I would love to know!

Awesome.. that is brilliant.

AS for the traffic, talk to the Sirius for it. They will enable traffic for the GPS for 3 dollars per month.

For the Radar, i got the Escort Redline with Live. You can also try the Valentine V1 with Live.

Sat Radio get the Sirius XM.

Garmin Hud is good but it will be sitting on the Dash. Kinda awkward thing.

When I bought my car in early March, buying outright cash deal was the worst.

Best "net" price for me was Ally financing since dealer offered up additional incentives. I got the lowest car price for the 60 month 3.99% financing package ... with no prepayment penalty. Coincidentally, effective today my loan is paid off in full and title is being transferred to me. My car was like 92K + $5K of add-ons. I even used my AMEX cashback card to pay the $10K deposit to reserve the car. :D

Although the 17-20% folks are getting today on new 2014's is much better than what I did even with the loan play, (12.5% net of interest paid). It shows you need to work the angles that best fits your needs. As an aside, they were offering up double the savings % off the slower moving new 2014 QP's ... but I didn't bite.
