2017 ghibli engine blown.

I was driving on the highway and all of a sudden my engine started to shut down and my oil light came on. I exited the highway and and as I came to a complete stop so did my ghibli. Unfortunately I was too busy to get an oil change which was the cause of my engine seizing. I figured if I got it flushed then it might start back running but I couldn’t even get it started in order to flush it out. Any suggestions before I buy a whole new engine?

Have you managed to check for any fault codes? Is the engine definitely seized?

I'm also curious how many miles on the car?
Sorry to hear about the engine, that really sucks, Dion. :(
Always interesting to hear if it’s a diesel or petrol…

Im, sorry but how many miles beyond an oil change did you drive? That oil comes out pretty decent at 12k miles.

It's bad news if the engine has seized. It's major work & $$ and I feel for you. To me, it sounds more like a failure in the lubrication system, and for the engine to shut down could indicate a significant drop in pressure or other malfunction. I doubt old oil would cause this problem (over a long period of time ...maybe, but it would have to be a very long time)

STILL interested to hear how much over on the oil change you were ?

the engine can shut down simply from a sensor code. But I fully agree- this wasn’t just being late on an oil change here.
