I used Dynama with aftermarket speaker components. I chose Hertz speaker components (6.5" with tweeter). I shut off the center channel as it offers very little. The factory amp is in the trunk on the drivers side wall. I shut it off and installed an Audison amp with Audison's signal processor and BIT One controller. The Hertz 6.5 components fit exactly into the factory speaker housings to so no medications but I did insulate the speaker housings with Dynamat. I also added a JL sub to replace the factory sub. I now have 1800 watts of power and will easily blow the doors off of the B&W option. That said, I paid $6.5K (including install) for this solution. You can spend 1/2 of what I did and still have a system that will be equal or likely better then the B&W option. Thanks ratti, not to sound too daft, but where all would you fit the Dynamat?
Hi, where are these guys based ?I have located an audio dealer who deal regularly with Maserati.
The PLAN is for Stock system upgrade:
- genesis amp
- 3 way morel speakers
- small 8" sub hidden near glovebox
The pricing will be MUCH cheaper than B&W and I suspect not too different in sound, but I'll have to reserve judgment till done!
Keep us posted, I too am keen to get a better sounding systemLondon.
Hopefully get mine done in the next few weeks. Am Awaiting ghibli arrival so I can take amp from my current car before p/x.
What's your timeframe?
I lease so as long as the upgrade is reversible I see no issueMates pardon my naivety, but would it not put the car out of warranty if one were make non factory ordered alterations?:nerd:
Would you be prepared to share the name of these guys in London ?Keep us posted, I too am keen to get a better sounding system![]()
could you please post some pics of it mounted?Rear shelf deadened with Skinz, and a barrier of 6mm closed cell foam applied. Sub installed was a Gladen 8" active subwoofer model number US-8 mounted in a custom made "caddy" attached to the underside of the shelf.
