I always push the accelerator while the engine is on! I don't trust that answer from the dealer, with only 3200 miles on a Maserati, I would have expected more for the prestigious dealer. It could be something as simple as the gas filler not sealing which would give you a check engine light, most check engine light alerts aren't a big deal but it's a new car. go out and check the filler and push it open with your finger to see if it's dirty it might reset itself
