Anyone else ever have this happen?

Front air conditioner vents (both the ones for your body/face and feet) aren't working.

Air is only coming out of the front defrost vents.

I pressed ever button I could under climate, but are only getting air out of the front defrost.

Happen to anyone else? Going to call dealership anyway.

Yes. It is common problem.
Either
Software if you didn't get the latest update. I did but didn't solve mine.

Diverter valve is stuck. There is a cable on drivers side that gets in the way. A campaign to put a clip around wires which normally solves the problem.

Or actuator burns out due to cables blocking diverter.

I had the cables tied back and found actuator was bad. Dealer replaced - 2 hours of work and good as new now.

Did your issue get solved? I just picked my Q4 up due to a cooling fan issue and driving home the A/C is only in Defrost mode and I can't change it. Going back in the morning. What a pain in the a!

Yep got it fixed. Known issues and they had to do something with the wires by the driver side foot panel.

Would have been nice if this "known issue" was fixed one of the 4 other times my car has been in for service during the first year SMH.

Two possibilities spring to mind. I guess the blower control switch to the left of the vents might be faulty. Secondly, there's a relay in the rear fuse box that you could check. And i suggest you to go to AC repair miami beach, they help you in decent manner .

Welp... 2 months later and same problem again. Back to the dealership tomorrow.

I'm so over this car and the trips to the dealership.

It is most annoying to come on this forum and find that the very problem I just had my 2015 Ghibli in the dealers to have investigated is well known here and yet my dealer pleads ignorance and contends that the malfunction cannot be replicated by them. I speak of the fact that on occasion air only comes from the defrost vents and not from the face vents; not only that, but it has happened that air comes from the passenger face vents at mach-1 and barely a breath from the driver's side, an impossibility according to what my dealer was told by Maserati.
Maybe I need to ask my dealer to have his service techs monitor this forum as neither they nor Maserati seem to be up to speed.

a forum post is not a diagnosis on your vehicle's unique issues. a repair can rarely be performed if verification cannot be performed while in the shop environment.

I'm not suggesting that a forum post verifies anything, but it could suggest a problem common across a model line. By your reckoning a manufacturer would not accumulate a data base of common problems their dealers could consult so as to prevent each and every malfunction from requiring a completely original diagnosis.
It took my dealer three separate service appointments to correct the fact that on start up I would have no audio in my vehicle at all--no radio, no player, no phone, no GPS voice, nothing. Finally it was determined that there was a computer update that needed to be applied, and the problem has not recurred since. Sure would have been nice had the tech had a data base to consult so that the malfunction could have been taken care of the first time.
Why is it that folks on Maserati forums tend to be defensive? Is it because they are embarrassed to have spent so much for such an inferior product?

I don't think its defensive, but different perspectives depending on whether you are a prospective owner, current owner, dealer / sales, or Maserati Service Technician.

In the end, there is no excuse on the air blowing from the front defrosters ... that is usually software and a quick software fix. I'm surprised they could not duplicate as that is typically stuck in that mode.

The out of balance can be sporadic depending on how bad the diverter is hanging up against the wire harness. That is a bigger job to fix.

Again dealer to dealer experience ... some are very responsive and proactive; while others are still learning the ropes which doesn't help customer satisfaction.

Its just frustrating that overall I've had 6 trips to the dealer in less than 2 years. A few of those trips were for "band-aid" type fixes of a problem that keeps happening.

For an $80k+ car, you don't expect these problems. I really wanted to like this car, but I'm counting down the months until I can bring it back.

Don't expect any sympathy on this forum, Duke. I'm up to seven trips to the dealer in less than a year on my 2015 and several of the issues are as yet unresolved. So many quirks that one has to wonder about the engineering and quality control. Maserati owners seem to be somewhat in the cuckold mold, unwilling to criticize or replace their beautiful mistresses no matter how unfaithful. I must admit though that it is the best looking Buick I've ever owned.

Sorry to hear about the problems you had. But, some of the owners understand that issues may occur. We hate it. But, it happens. Reliability expectations might not be at the top for this car. But Ask people who bought italian cars in the 80s...

I wish you luck on your car!

Air vent

I am now on the 3rd time of having my vents not working. But honestly I'm going to try out another Maserati dealership because the last two that I've been going to have been so terrible as far as repair times and customer service. The last time it took literally three and a half weeks to fix my car. And that was for an engine light that was on and it took them forever to figure out why it was on. And I had just gotten it service for 2-year servicing just prior to that which took another 2 weeks so all in all my car was in the shop for 5 and 1/2 Weeks. The worst part is I was driving around in a Honda Civic because they don't offer you equivalent automobiles.

Sorry to hear.

The air vents are usually software related (blowing from defroster vents) or stuck/burned out diverter. If they don't tie back the wiring per technical bulletin it will continue to stick.

I had both fixes and mine works fine after each fix.

Every dealer is different ... I think some of the new dealers are learning as they go. Lack of Maserati loaner is unfortunate. Everyone of the dealers in my region provides a Ghibli if they have one reserved for my service. Loaners can have a 2-3 week advance notice.
