Maintenance Service Reset

42640 Views 41 Replies 30 Participants Last post by  CatmanV2
Hey all,

Im new to this forum but I have seen that some have expressed interest in resetting the maintenance light on their Maserati. I have a 2016 SQ4 and have bought a tool to take care of the light. If anyone wants to reset I would be willing to send the tool to them. I only need it 3 times for the 3 years ill have the car so I was hoping to recoup some of the cost. win win for everyone. The dealer in my area (Buffalo, NY) charges $450 for an oil change. I changed my oil for $80 plus this tool. Don't pay the dealer to do it when its such an easy oil change.

Thanks!

I know others that have the tool and it works great. You can also buy other modules, like BMW, to do similar actions.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Anthony. I was able to get the loaner from him in a few days. I have a 2014 Quattroporte. Took me 2 mins to reset it. Works like a charm. If you have any doubts about purchasing the tool, this is a great way to try it out.
Thanks Anthony!

Another shoutout to Anthony. I received the tool today. Was able to reset my maintenance light in literally 10 seconds. Scanner is now ready for the next member, lol.

$100 oil/ filter plus $25 rental maintenance reset tool definitely beats the rediculous $700 Oil lube service from the Dealer.

Anyone that wants to pursue this route, do not hesitate contacting Anthony. He is awesome to deal with.

Save you cash for something else important.

Rented the maintenance tool from Anthony and sent to PK. Payment and refund went smoothly. I'm very appriatative for Anthony for making the tool rental service for us to use. He also gave me links to where to buy the oil/filters/oil pump and youtube link on how to do the DIY oil change. Would recommmend to anyone. Thanks again :)

Does this tool reset All Maintenance service required?

What else does it do? I installed paddles on my 2014, the dealer claims they upgraded the software but the icon of the paddles do not show on cluster

Dealer response : not available on 2014-2016 , however , plenty of pictures of members with the upgrade done on their 2014

Thank you
The tool will reset any service reminder light that you have on. It will also diagnose if you have a check engine light or a different light and want to know what is tripping it.
As far as the icon of the paddles... I don't know anything about what that is or how you get it so I would have to defer to someone else on the forum. Try to get a hold of a member that you see has it on.
I email you Anthony. I would love to rent this tool to reset my light. I plan to do the oil change and change the spark plugs on Wednesday. Just let me know. Thanks.

Has anyone tried the Zurich ZR8/11/13 Scanner from Harbor Freight Tools to reset the oil change light? It says it can do it with other makes, but not confirmed if it will work on a Ghibli.

I just used mine to reset the light. It takes all of 1 minute.

What I did before this though was to reset the date in the MTC screen date/time settings to 1 year prior. The light comes on when either the miles run out or the time. Backing the year up 1 year eliminates the time causing the light to come on, but on my car at least, when the mileage ran out the light came on.

Next time I will just use the x200 and not bother to fiddle with the MTC date settings.

I also have the OBDSTAR x200 Pro if anyone would like to borrow it to reset service light.

I didn't know there was more than 1 model. I have the green one that everyone mentions above. I bought it on ebay for $180 and it worked great right out of the box. Light was turned off in about 30 seconds without reading any instructions. Super easy.
perhaps a rhetorical question, but what's the harm of simply leaving the light on?

after all, you should change oil at regular (mileage) intervals, which hopefully we're all keeping meticulous track of.

my 2018 will have super low mileage, and the light won't bother me.

No harm, I'm sure. But it would bug the heck out of me.
