Looking at the DVD manual under "Maserati Touch Control", "Devices, controls and buttons", "(1) On/Off Button & Volume Control Knob", page 6 indicates that if the Accept button is not "served" then the system switches to the main screen anyway.

Does this work for anyone? Basically, to use the touch screen in my car I have to press the "Accept" button when the system first starts. If I do not press accept the system does not automatically move on to the main display after some time. Hoping to find a way not to have to press the Accept button every time - just annoying when I am making several short trips in a row.

Thank you - I thought it was just me! The system does not default off the accept screen for me either. To be honest, I was surprised that the manual said it would, as most US systems seem to err on the side of the lawyers...err...caution.

Would love to be able to find a workaround for this. Had a tool to change factory default settings on VW/Audi cars through the OBD port that I've used extensively on previous vehicles. I wonder if there's something similar for Maserati?

Update: According to my service tech who inquired with his contacts the manual is correct for Europe but not correct for the US due to a US legal requirement.

So maybe there is a workaround out there?

I was told by my dealer on pick-up, I better get used to it ... Maserati coded it in for safety / liability. But sure someone will figure out the code or at least reduce the number of times you have to accept.

Speaking of U-Connect; This was the first time I had the system "thinking" ... it was prompting me to "please wait". Not sure what I was waiting for unless there is some sort of automatic upgrades.

This is really odd, considering I just rented a Dodge minivan that had last year's UConnect. It flashed the "Accept" screen and then automatically went to normal after a couple of minutes.

I have left it on for a minute or two on a UK reg Ghibli and it did not go off without pressing the accept. I cannot say it never will go off but 2 minutes is certainly not long enough on this European car.

I does NOT go off in the US unless you accept it. Well, unless you have a Dodge Dart that is. They DO go off after a moment. Just wondering what the $15k car has that the $90k+ car does not?...more Lawyers?

Hello All:
I looked up the LockPick product and emailed them. I asked if the Maserati was supported as the system is the Uconnect. Ireceived the following this morning:

Hi Steve,
Congrats on the Maserati!
Thank you so much for your inquiry. Unfortunately at this time the Maserati line is not on the approved listing as compatible with the LockPick device. Thanks for thinking of us and checking in about our product. Thanks again and have a great day.

I have this issue with the "Accept" button on my S Q4 as well. Right now it is at the dealership to repair a vibrating subwoofer. I was given a base Ghibli as a loaner. The "Accept" screen on this car does disappear automatically after about 15 seconds. No need to press the button at all. I told the dealership this as well and they are looking into it. Not much hope for a fix right now but there are some Ghiblis out there that do work without having to press the button. Will see what the technician says when he comes back to me.

KSM269 that is a very interesting development! And it aligns with the Maserati user manual. Please keep us updated.

I tried to be stubborn and see how long it would "hang" on the accept screen.

In case anyone was interested ... I tried ... drove 45 minutes without accepting and no change ... it just waited for me to accept.:(

I am from Luxembourg in Europe and can confirm that I have the same problem : as long as I do not accept, The display does not change ! As in the US, the CD User Manual says the contrary. i have contacted Maserati, Italy, and they said that they do not accept to shange this for legal reasons. Being myself a lawyer I can confirm that in Europe this argument is not valid ! BMW, Audi and Porsche do not have this requirement (at least in Europe). I really dislyke this requirement and I am higly interested if someone knows how to change this. Best regards, Marc

mrpa1999 - what you describe is not happening for many of us. The 'accept' screen does not go away unless we press the 'accept' soft button. Might I ask which model you have (base or SQ4) and when you purchased it (manufacture date would be even better if you know).

What Maserati is telling us is different from what the manual states and what some folks (like you) are telling us.

I don't think the radio is the issue. Even if the "accept" screen goes away after a few seconds , one cannot use the nav system input keys or change the nav system while in motion. I believe that what most people want is the ability for the passenger to change navigational input, change destination etc while in motion. The other options in the infotainment system like DVD viewing is only operational while the vehicle is stopped. The overide systems available by lock pick, Pacific and NavTv allow navigation, DVD and other locked operations while "in motion" on select Uconnect equipped vehicles. Unfortunately, the maserati system is not yet supported. I posted on another thread that NavTv may be interested in building a bypass unit for us if enough drivers expressed interest. So far no one has responded on that thread.
