I had software updates on my 2017 in February, but I still have this problem (alarm sensitive with sunroof open).Dealer is looking into it with Maserati technical group. This must not be a common problem. I take it in for 4 software updates next week, I'll let you know what I find out.
I don't think there is a software solve for alarm going off with sunroof open other than pressing the key fob lock button 3-4 times until you here it beep. Than the open sunroof or cracked window will not set off the alarm. At least in the older versions the pressure differential was enough to set off the alarm (when armed).I had software updates on my 2017 in February, but I still have this problem (alarm sensitive with sunroof open).
Yea Did the same. I think they are all like this. There are a number of posts around "random" alarm going off, but I definitely have a pattern that indicates mine is too sensitive.
I have found the following can trigger the alarm:
- sunroof open or tilted
- windows open slightly
- car within two spaces closing there doors or trunk
- my lawnmover (it sounds like a jet engine) going by the car in the garage with doors down.
- another high performance car starting there engine or reving next to me.
Interesting, as long as the key fob is in range, it will not happen.
It is now standard operating protocol that I deactivate the interior sensors to avoid the alarm from going off when I walk away. (three clicks within 5 seconds of locking doors to deactivate interior sensors).
Anyone else experiencing similar sensitivities with alarm?
One more for my next preventive service.
Thanks ...
