I decided to pull the trigger and have my windows tinted to protect from UV damage and significantly reduce heat transfer into the car. I also wanted a little darker color since I have Griogio Mareata exterior with Cuoio interior / extended leather.

I thought I would add this post for those of you who are also contemplating window tinting.

Once you decide, which is your reason for adding the tint; you'll next need to find the manufacturer and specialist to apply the material.

All films are not created equal and as you expect there is the "you pay for what you get" mantra that applies here two.

I decided to go with two highly rated film vendors:

Huper Optik Ceramic 70% for the Windshield due to clarity, glare, UV and heat reduction. This one was highly recommended and has a proven track record.

3M Crystalline 50% for all other windows and rear window. It also has impressive results like Huper Optik, but is a little lighter in color and more complimentary with the 70% OEM Ghibli tint and color hue.

These films are thick and require a good skilled craftsmen to apply properly.

I searched and found a certified installer who had an outstanding track record of positive results and someone who has been doing this for many years. Jason at Accent Tint in York, PA. Pennsylvania Window Tinting Experts Residential Commercial Automotive Window Tint

Jason is like Ken at All Shine, (Gtechniq pro application), ... very thorough and conscientious.

He helped guide me in selection of films, so on Thursday I dropped my car off and it was ready on Saturday morning. He wanted to make sure the films cured properly before I picked up the car. Lifetime warranty on films and there for me if I accidentally scratch a window, (which I have no intentions).

The car looks great ... and WOW it makes a big difference in how the heat comes through in direct sunlight.

I attached 4 pictures since the level of tint will appear very different in sunlight and under overcast sky. Also note how the grigio mareata changes in different lights too.

$499 seems very reasonable for 3M Crystalline ... make sure it is 3M Crystalline ... 3M has different product lines.

$950 total for 3M Crystalline 50% all around including Huper Optic nano ceramic 70% for the windshield. Lifetime warranty.

There is plenty of glass surface on the Ghibli.

I do find the 3M Crystalline is crystal clear transparent, with little inside reflection.
I'm still waiting for the Huper Optik to cure ... still has a little milky look to it.

Deepankar Abrol Caution!!! 3M Crystalline does not come in 35% ... 40% is the lowest. Double check what they are quoting you.

Thanks for the advise. I'll definitely find out what 3M product are they saying. I got their referral from 3M site itself, so hoping they aren't giving some BS or alternate product.

Thanks for sharing.

I went with the SolarGuard premium ceramic film 50% on all four windows and 35% at the rear windshield for $500, life time warranty.

I've always had my windows tinted, but never went for the ceramic film and so-called UV/heat protection. It is unbelievable how cool it keeps the car, my wife noticed it instantaneously without telling her the benefits. I am now sold on ceramic tint.

That too is a good price. For me first time tinting. As an aside the 3M crystalline 50% is completely cured and looks great. The Huper Optik nano ceramic on windshield looks like it will take a month or two for that to fully clear, (you still see a light milky haze during certain sunlight conditions). I need to park it out in the hot sun versus cool shaded garage. Did you find the SolarGaurd ceramic cured quickly?

These ceramic and crystalline films are really amazing on heat / UV reduction.
