Boot (trunk) close button not working

Almost sounds like the switch contact if motor works from other sources. I don't have the close button, but have heard some indicate wiring harness or switch contact was their problem.

Hi all, just to close out on this one and give some tips for anyone with this issue in the future, I fixed the non-responsive "boot close" button in about 20 minutes...
  1. I first removed the switch (the switch and surround come out as one: open the boot and pull horizontally away from the car; it's just held with plastic clips so should come out easily).
  2. Remove the switch from the surround. Again, just plastic clips which you can push in with your fingers.
  3. Remove the button (moving part that your actually press) from the rest of the unit. You'll never guess, but it's held in with plastic clippy bits. Just gently pry with finger/fingernail and it'll come off easily.
  4. Remove the rubber part that makes the connection when pressed. It's just located by a few lugs and isn't attached.
At this point I noticed some light, (green-ish) corrosion on the button contact (perhaps it got wet at some point?). I got some white vinegar from the cupboard and put some on a tissue and cleaned the contacts on both the circuitboard and the button. Reassembled and bingo. Good as new!
Thanks for sharing your solution ... MUCH APPRECIATED!!!
